Let’s dive in…

Welcome to the Adventure of a Lifetime

amber, elopement photographer

Hey there, I’m Amber! I’m your elopement photographer and planner – your one-stop-shop for absolutely everything you need for a magical, incredible elopement day.

I offer all-inclusive elopement packages for couples who want to relax and let me handle absolutely everything, as well as options for couples who like a little bit of DIY! I’ll find the perfect place for you to exchange vows, recommend vendors, help you figure out travel and lodging, make a timeline, and more – personalizing each part of your elopement day to perfectly suit the two of you. And of course, I’ll be there to take the photos and document this once in a lifetime adventure.
You aren’t like every other couple, and your wedding day shouldn’t be either! I’ll help you craft a day that’s true to you, authentic, and real, allowing you to immerse yourselves in the experience as you say your “I dos.”

First, let’s be sure we’re talking about the same thing:

What is an elopement?

Tell your grandparents you’re eloping and there might be a lot of pearl clutching – but that’s because the meaning of eloping has changed so much over the past few years, and people haven’t quite caught on!

It may have been used to describe a rushed ceremony, a scandalous affair, or a last minute wedding in the past, but now the word elopement has taken on a new meaning. Now, eloping is about letting go of all the expectations, pressures, and traditions of the wedding industry, and making the day you get married a day that actually reflects who you are. If throwing a huge party doesn’t seem like your style, you might like to elope in a beautiful place and spend your day exploring and having adventures!

How to legally elope in Cyprus

How to Legally Elope in Cyprus

You don’t need to live in Cyprus to get married there! But you will need to see a marriage officer in person at least 3 days before your ceremony, so if you’re traveling internationally, make sure to get here early! You won’t regret it – that just means more time to explore the island! It’s important to note that the normal waiting period is 15 days – but for £247, you can cut that down to three days.

When you apply for your marriage license, make sure to bring your passport and birth certificate, and photocopies of the photo page of both your passports, and your witnesses’ passports. A mayor of Cyprus can officiate your elopements, and you will need two witnesses – the only requirement is that they be over 18, so your photographer and any other vendors can double as witnesses!

For couples from the US:

In certain states, you can ask your county clerk the authorization to sign your wedding license abroad. If they agree, as a registered minister, my team and I will be able to legally marry you without the hassle of a legal wedding ceremony in Cyprus.

Why Elope in Cyprus?

Gorgeous Landscapes

Cyprus’ mild weather makes it an incredible elopement destination year round. When you see the crystal clear beaches, delicately carved sea caves, and towering, snow-capped mountains, it’ll be hard to say no to eloping in Cyprus!

Local Cuisine

Halloumi cheese is one of the most popular delicacies local to Cyprus, and you’ll also find some of the freshest kebabs, olives, hummus, and seafood that will leave you wanting more. Local bakeries provide fresh bread and pastries, and you can’t miss the local beer and wine!

Cultural Treasures

Cyprus is home to treasures of mythology, culture, and art. It is said that many writers have found inspiration on the island, and you can still visit the locations where they sat to write. The old architecture and ruins reflect the Byzantine and Ottoman empires that once inhabited the land.

Where to Elope in Cyprus

Everywhere you look, the scenery in Cyprus will take your breath away. You can’t go wrong choosing a location on the island, but here are some of my favorite places where you can elope in Cyprus.

Where to elope in Cyprus - the Avakas gorge

Avakas Gorge

Some of the most unique and undisturbed landscapes can be found at Avakas Gorge. Over centuries of erosion, the limestone has been carved away to form slot canyons that can be hiked through. If you elope in Cyprus, exploring the Avakas Gorge can be a once in a lifetime experience – but make sure your hiking boots are waterproof! You might have to do some wading.

Caledonia Waterfall

The Caledonia Waterfall is one of the highest falls in Cyprus, and requires just a short hike to get there! You’ll walk through a serene forest with views of the Troodos Mountains in the distance, and be greeted with the rushing waterfall when you reach your destination.

Where to elope in Cyprus - Cape Greco

Cape Greco

A stunning national park in Cyprus, Cape Greco offers views of sea caves and unique rock formations that have been molded by the blue waves of the Mediterranean Sea. You can stand on top of the rocks and watch the crashing ocean below, or take a boat tour into the caves!

Limassol Sand Dunes

The sand dunes are one of the most remote locations to elope in Cyprus. Their unique gray color and seemingly never ending expanse of undisturbed sand make them an amazing place to tie the knot, away from the hustle and bustle. You might even spot a few turtles nesting amongst the dunes!

Where to elope in Cyprus - Cedar Valley

Cedar Valley

Just like the name suggests, this idyllic space is covered in cedar trees native to Cyprus. The forest will make you feel as though you stepped into a storybook, and there are hiking trails perfect for exploring, and picnic tables near by perfect for post-ceremony cake cutting!

When to elope in Cyprus - summer

When to Elope in Cyprus

This Mediterranean island is known for mild weather, so any time of year that you decide to elope in cyprus will be incredible! But, there are a few things you should know.

WINTER

Winters in southern Cyprus rarely fall below about 14 degrees C (57 F), but rainfall is heavier, with about 11 days of rain each month. However, if you venture north, you’ll be greeted with mountains and high elevations – which means snow! Through the winter and into early spring, the Troodos Mountains are an amazing destination for skiing and snowboarding.

SPRING

Spring in Cyprus is a little chilly for swimming, but warm enough to comfortably spend the day outside! The weather is perfect for hiking, and spring is less crowded than summer.

SUMMER

For those who love the beach, summer is the perfect time to elope in Cyprus. Temperatures will be high, and jumping in the water is the perfect way to cool off! The mountains will be perfect for hiking – by late July, most of the snow will be gone, and hiking trails will be open.

FALL

Fall is a tranquil time in Cyprus, as visitors depart and locals are back to school. Early fall is a perfect time to elope, as the weather is still warm, but crowds are much thinner!

What to wear for an elopement in Cyprus - the suit

What To Wear When Eloping In Cyprus

You want to look your best on your elopement day, but don’t forget to be comfortable too! You definitely don’t want to spend your wedding day tugging at your clothes or nursing blisters on your feet, and if you’re not happy, your photos will show it!

The Dress

Cyprus is pretty warm year round, unless you elope in the mountains. I recommend layers, and thin fabrics like tulle or chiffon that won’t weigh you down. Choose styles that are easy to sit and walk around in – put that mermaid cut dress back! A line and princess cuts are amazing, and super comfortable!

The Shoes

For an adventure elopement, hiking boots are best – unless you’re eloping on the beach, in which case I recommend sandals or even no shoes at all! No matter what, make sure to break in your shoes before the elopement day – there’s nothing worse than blisters!

The Suit

During the day, a dress shirt and nice pants will be amazing, but as the sun starts to set, you’ll want to have a jacket or tux along. Layer up to be prepared for all weather!
