When to Elope in Tasmania
The best time to elope in Tasmania will depend on what you want to do, as weather can change throughout the year. Here’s what you need to know before you set a date!
WINTER IN Tasmania
Winter in Tasmania is June through August, and it can get chilly. The mountains are often snowy, which can make driving difficult – but places around the coast are a little warmer, so while you probably won’t want to dive into the water, it can be a good time to enjoy coastal hikes without as many people around!
SPRING IN Tasmania
In the Spring (September – November), temperatures warm up a bit and it can be a great time to elope in Tasmania if you want to avoid crowds. The mountains will likely still be covered in snow for much of the season, but lower elevation areas can be great for exploring! Rain falls frequently at the start of spring, so I definitely recommend bringing some waterproof gear.
SUMMER IN Tasmania
Summer is the most popular time to visit, which means there will be more people around and prices can be higher. Still, summer is an incredible time to elope in Tasmania, as it’s a great time for hiking and exploring outdoors. December is usually still rainy, but the sun starts to come out in January and February!
FALL IN Tasmania
Like spring, fall is a great time to elope in Tasmania if you want to avoid the crowds. You can often spot fall foliage, but starting in April, snow usually begins to accumulate in the mountains.
