A 3-day Westfjords elopement adventure in Iceland
Itinerary of their Westfjords elopement

Day 1 – Tuesday
I’ll meet you at your hotel at 1pm for the beginning of our adventure!
We’ll head directly to the peninsula for a road trip to the most iconic spots on the peninsula.
1.00-3.30pm: driving to a waterfall
3.30-5.00pm: shooting at the waterfall
5.00-5.05pm: driving to the black church
5.05-5.15pm: photoshoot at the church
5.15-5.35pm: driving to the cliffs
5.35-6.00pm: photoshoot at the cliffs
6.00-6.40pm: driving to the giant padlock beach
6.40-7.10pm: photoshoot on the black beach at the beginning of sunset
7.10-7.15pm: driving to the waterfalls
7.15-8.15pm: photoshoot around the waterfall and the mountains
8.15-8.45pm: driving to Stykkisholmur, dinner at the delicious restaurant
9.00pm: end of photography coverage

Day 2 – Wednesday: Elopement day
9.00-11.00am: getting ready in your room
10.30am: I’ll meet you in your hotel room for some getting ready shots and atmospheric/detail shots.
11.00am: first look
11.00am: checkout time at the hotel! We’ll head directly to Bonus to buy some groceries for a picnic with a view
11.30am: driving to the westfjords
11.30-7.30pm: scenic drive in the westfjords with stops along the road for photos and picnic, all the way to your hotel
7.30pm: arriving at the hotel and check-in
7.45-9.00pm: dinner at the restaurant of the hotel
10.30-11.00pm: driving to the waterfall
11.00-11.30pm: walking to the base of the waterfall
11.30pm-12.00am: ceremony
12.00-12.30am: driving back to the hotel and night (included)
Day 3 – Thursday
11.30am: we’ll meet outside our hotel and head directly to the ferry
1.00pm: grabbing lunch
1.30pm-2.00pm: boarding on the ferry
2.00-4.30pm: photography break. We’ll eat directly on board and enjoy the view of the westfjords
4.30-4.45pm: getting out of the ferry
5.45-10.45pm: driving back to Reykjavik through different viewpoints. Dropping you off at the airport!
10.45pm: end of our adventure together

Our 3-day elopement adventure in the Icelandic Westfjords with Amber was an experience we’ll cherish forever. Reflections on the day
Amidst the ancient echoes of Icelandic landscapes, their love story unfolded like a symphony of nature’s most profound notes. It was a journey of souls, a tale of a couple eloping in Iceland, where each step resonated with the heartbeat of this wild and untamed land.
In Reykjavik’s embrace, a chapter began. As the sun painted the sky with hues of gold, I whisked them away to the enchanting Snæfellsnes Peninsula. There, waterfalls danced amidst towering mountains, black beaches kissed the sea’s edge, and lava fields whispered tales of earth’s fiery embrace. Through the lens, we captured their love amidst these breathtaking vistas, where nature’s artistry embraced their bond.
But the true crescendo awaited. A tiny lighthouse perched on the edge of the world bore witness as the sun dipped beneath the horizon, igniting the sky in a blaze of colors. The couple stood as silhouettes against the canvas of twilight, a testament to the beauty of their love and the magic of the moment.
And as the stars faded into the embrace of dawn, a new day whispered promises of enchantment. In the harbor’s gentle cradle, they shared a first look, their hearts harmonizing with the gentle rhythm of the sea. Northward, we ventured, weaving through the fjords where mountains meet the sky. With each shutter click, we captured not just their images, but their essence in this wondrous expanse.
Dinner and a brief respite greeted us, but it was the midnight sun that beckoned. The waterfall’s roar greeted them as they climbed, ascending to the realm where vows take flight. Amidst the cascading symphony, they pledged their love, their commitment harmonizing with the rushing water. Champagne kissed their lips as they embraced the majesty of the moment.
On the final day, the ferry carried them across azure depths, encountering puffins and the quaint charm of Flatey Island. Icelandic horses lent their grace to their images, and as the journey circled back, raindrops danced upon their faces, a tender farewell from the land that had embraced their love story.
In every whisper of wind and every rustle of leaves, their elopement in Iceland lives on. An odyssey of landscapes and emotions, a journey that resonates within the heart of a land as wild and untamed as their love.

A short anecdote: Choosing the summer solstice for their elopement, the couple was enchanted by the idea of exchanging vows under the midnight sun in Iceland. As the sun hovered just below the horizon, casting a surreal, golden light that lasted for hours, they said their “I dos” in an atmosphere that felt almost otherworldly. This natural phenomenon provided a perfect, luminous backdrop for their ceremony, making their special day even more unforgettable and truly one of a kind.
