What a Santorini elopement
actually looks like
Not the one with 200 guests and a rented Oia terrace. The one where you and your person wake up in Fira, get dressed in your hotel suite, and spend the whole day exploring the island before exchanging vows at a hidden chapel as the sun drops into the sea.
That is what Meg and Drew did. That is what a Santorini elopement with Zephyr & Luna looks like: an 8-hour adventure, fully planned and photographed, zero guests, maximum everything else.

The Day
How a Santorini elopement
unfolds hour by hour
Exact location names are withheld in line with Leave No Trace principles, to protect sensitive and semi-protected natural and heritage sites.
- 10:00 Getting ready in your Fira suite. The rings are out. The dress is on the hook. This is where the day begins.
- 12:30 Amber arrives at your room.
- 12:45 First look. Just the two of you, a pool, and the whole caldera spread out behind you.
- 13:00 Photography session through the streets of Fira. Whitewashed walls, steep steps, that unmistakable Cycladic blue.
- 14:15 Your vintage car arrives. Yes, complete with driver.
- 14:45 Drive to a clifftop vantage point and lookout above the island.
- 15:00 Photography on the slopes and at the lookout. The light at this hour is something else.
- 16:00 Photography session at the old church. History, stone, silence.
- 17:30 Cocktail stop. A pause to breathe and take it all in before the ceremony.
- 18:30 Walk up to the secret chapel. This is the one you came for.
- 19:00 Ceremony at sunset. Vows spoken above the Aegean as the sky turns every shade of orange and pink.
- 19:30 First dance at blue hour, with Fira glowing in the background.
- 20:30 Drive to your dinner reservation. Coverage ends. The evening is all yours.

What it feels like to
photograph a Santorini elopement
There is a specific quality of light on Santorini in the late afternoon. It comes from the west, catches the whitewash, and turns everything warm and a little unreal. You can try to describe it, but the only way to really understand it is to stand there, in it, with someone you love.
Meg and Drew did exactly that. As they exchanged their vows beside a chapel that looked like it had grown out of the cliff, with the Aegean stretching all the way to the horizon behind them, I kept thinking: this is why this job exists. Not the technical challenge or the compositional puzzle, but the extraordinary privilege of being the person in the room when something this real happens.
The vintage car was their idea. We found a classic with a driver, and it completely changed the energy of the afternoon. There is something about cruising across Santorini at that speed, in a car like that, in a wedding dress and a suit, that loosens everything up. By the time we reached the ceremony site, they were relaxed, laughing, and ready.
A Santorini elopement does not require a big production. It requires the right plan, the right locations, and enough time to actually live the day rather than just document it. That is what I design every itinerary around: moments you will want to remember, not just images you will want to share.

The vintage car
they asked for
Meg and Drew had one specific request for their Santorini elopement: they wanted to travel in a vintage car. Not a modern hire car, not a taxi. A real classic, with a driver, that fit the island.
Request delivered. The car turned out to be one of the most photographed things of the entire day, and it added something genuinely joyful to the afternoon: a sense of occasion, a little glamour, and a lot of laughter as they climbed in wearing their wedding clothes.
It is the kind of detail that looks incidental in the photos but changes the whole feeling of the day. That is what the planning side of this work is for.
