When to Elope in Norway
The best time for your Norway elopement will depend on what you want to do! There’s no bad time to visit, but your experience will be different depending on each season.
WINTER
Winter is the least popular time for tourists in Norway, because the weather is harsh and cold. Temperatures are often below freezing, with snow falling – especially in the higher elevation areas. The days are short, but this is the best time to see the Northern Lights.
SPRING
Early spring is still cold in Norway, but by the end of May, it gets sunnier and warmer. The wildflowers bloom, and hikes open up! This is the best time for a Norway elopement if you want to see the waterfalls in full force.
SUMMER
Summer is definitely the best time to elope in Norway, but it is the most popular time to visit! The days are long, and snow melts in the mountains, creating perfect hiking conditions. It does rain occasionally, so be prepared with some waterproof layers, but the weather in Norway is ideal for outdoor adventures!
FALL
The fall colors make Norway absolutely stunning. This is a great time to elope, as it’s still warm in early fall, but less people are around. Especially in coastal areas, the weather is more mild. Rain is frequent, but with waterproof gear, you’ll have some privacy on your elopement day.
