If you’ve always dreamed of getting married in France, especially in Paris, you might be overwhelmed with the tons of informations you read since you got engaged. So for a second, sit back and think about what you have been through with your future husband of wife, and take a deep breath because…you’re getting married!
Generally, couples contact me very early in the planning process, sometimes even before choosing a venue for their elopement in Paris. This is why I created this little guide with you in mind. 1) A little bit about Paris
Ah! Paris! The capital of France and Romantism. The city of the Eiffel Tower and the Musée du Louvre. There are so many things to see in this beautiful city, and it might be why you chose it to get married in the first place!
Landscape
Paris has always been a busy city, with lots of kings and queens visiting and royal palaces being built all over, including the very famous Chateau de Versailles. The city has always been in the center of the French history, wether during the 6th century-18th century kingdoms or the French Revolution in 1789.
It is a rich city with lots to offer and beautiful private hotels, chateaux and wedding venues for brides and grooms wanting to get married in France. So if you’re in the hunt for the best wedding venues in Paris, you’re in the right place!
Weather
The weather in Paris is very mild and snow is pretty rare. However, summers can be incredibly hot, this is why I don’t recommend getting married in Paris during the peak touristic season (June, July, September, October). The month of August is one of the best ones as it is still pretty hot, but there are less tourists in the city. And if you’re looking into an off-season wedding, the months of November, December and January are the best ones. However, these are also very chilly, but who never dreamed of taking pictures with the beautiful Christmas decorations in Paris?
Access and transportation
Paris is the capital of France, so all the transportations pretty much depart from there. You can find direct flights to Paris from all the main airports worldwide, and from the city you can take a train, a bus or rent a car and go to pretty much anywhere in France (and Europe for that matter). Look into the International Airport Charles-de-Gaulle for most of the international flights to Paris. Once you arrived at the airport, take a Uber or a shuttle to go to your hotel.
Local life
Paris has a lot of museums and monuments, like the Musée du Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Cathedrale Notre Dame de Paris or the Arc de Triomphe. But local life is even better. You will find delicious little restaurants hidden in the narrow streets of the Quartier Latin, and climb all the way up to Montmartre to discover a beautiful view of the city. Don’t forget to buy a baguette in a boulangerie (the boulangerie Leroy-Monti in the 12th arrondissement won the 2019 award), and try delicious Macarons at Pierre Hermé.
