Before you start planning your amazing elopement in Maui, you’ll need to think about setting a date! While Hawaii is known for being pretty idyllic year round, each season brings something a little different.

Winter on Maui

Winter is the most popular time to visit maui, because so many people are trying to get away from the cold weather in the rest of the northern hemisphere! December is especially popular because of the holidays.

But, this is definitely the best time to elope on Maui if you want to surf – the waves are best in the winter. While it can get crowded in the popular spots, if you find a lesser known place to get married, you’ll have no trouble finding some privacy!

Spring on Maui

Spring is an incredible time for a Maui elopement – after the summer crowds leave, the cost of flights and lodging goes down significantly. You can find the best deals this time of year, and the weather is still warm and sunny!

If you’re interested in the local culture, spring is the best time to visit because there are several festivals happening this time of year.

Summer on Maui

Summer is the second most popular time to visit Maui, especially for families with kids on summer vacation! This is the best time to elope if you want to swim or snorkel – the water is calmer, which isn’t good for surfing, but great for swimmers. It’s pretty warm in the summer, so if you’re hiking, you’ll definitely need some extra water!

Fall on Maui

Along with spring, fall is the best time to elope if you want to experience Maui without as many people around. After the summer crowds celar out, it’s still warm and sunny, though it rains more frequently starting in late October.

The waves pick back up, so conditions are better for surfing than swimming.
