Amelie and Nicolas are both French and they contacted me for their beautiful bohemian-inspired wedding in a chateau near Lyon. I was thrilled to say the least, as they were planning some beautiful details and an overall very emotional day. As frequent travellers, they had friends coming from all corners of the world to celebrate with them, so they wanted to create a very special day for everybody.
As a Lyon wedding photographer, I am used to shooting in chateaux, especially the ones in the Beaujolais region (where some delicious wine comes from as well) but shooting in this one was a one-of-a-kind experience. Amélie had a couture dress created by Virginie Sauvadet, and they hired all the rooms in the chateau plus the gite to get ready in a beautiful location.
When I arrived, the day was moody, with some light rain. And I knew it was going to be the case the whole day. But I love it when it rains, at it creates some beautiful atmospheres. And Amelie and Nicolas were so in love that a little rain didn’t matter. Nobody knew, but the morning of their wedding, they just got the news that Amelie was pregnant! So this day was even more special for them. (you can see their newborn session on my kids-dedicated website).
After a beautiful civil ceremony at the city hall nearby, Amelie and Nicolas organized a secular ceremony in the garden of the chateau, overlooking the park and the chateau. It was once again very emotional and I truly enjoyed being part of this beautiful day!
I could not resist and couldn’t wait for Nico who is in London for 2 days…I just love them!!!!
Many thanks !!!!
