Perle & Baptiste – A 4-days adventure on the Shetland Islands, Scotland
Pearl and Baptiste contacted me because they were looking for an elopement photographer in Scotland for a very special adventure engagement session. As they had no inspiration to decide where to go, I offered them the Shetlands Islands. And they loved the idea.
We were there, in a chilly wind, in front of a landscape way too beautiful to not take our breath away for a second. We crossed wrinkly mountains, and the absence of trees for kilometers was starting to be felt. But it had little importance, because we were alive, and we were there, on this island lost in a raging sea, near houses that had sheets drying in the wind on a way too old rack. We already drove throught fabulous landscapes, directly out of our imagination, and we were ready to discover many more, as extraordinary. But for the moment, we needed to breathe. Enjoy. See. Listen.
The wind was blowing in our hair and the odor or iodine was getting to us softly. No one was talking, because words would have been too much.
I turned around and saw them together. Numbed by the cold, but in love. Sharing is landscape together like they were born again. Their hands crumples, and iodine was flying all around them in a danse that only earth knew.
The world opened to us for a moment. It showed us its most magnificent ray of sun, timidly, and all the elements aligned. The air became silent and we simply enjoyed together the beauty we were given to see.
We drove to the sound of a guitar on roads damaged by the cold, and we just discovered the true definition of the word Freedom. Tonight, we’ll be sleeping on an unknown bed and will sleep with stars in our heads. We’ll taste new flavors, and will let us be guided by the freedom of the wild roads.
