What they have to say about their adventure

I can’t speak highly enough of Amber and her company, Zephyr & Luna! My now husband and I decided we wanted to elope somewhere unusual, and settled on the Faroe Islands (with a stop to Iceland). A simple Google search revealed elopements there and in Iceland are fairly popular, and Ambre’s engaging website, photography and timely responses sold us over the other elopement photographers.

Spending time with Amber during our two day photo shoot (one in Iceland and one in the Faroes) was better than I could have imagined. We got a phenomenal landscape and wedding photographer PLUS travel guide PLUS wedding officiant all in one! Amber recommended and set the perfect itinerary and took us to some of the most beautiful spots in both countries, she knew the terrain and the time to travel between spots (we were always within 1-5 minutes of her preplanned itinerary!), and she was able to fully capture our love and happiness in her photos!

She’s also a wonderful human being, made us feel very comfortable, and was willing to be flexible and adjust the schedule if we asked. Anyone looking for a phenomenal photographer with a ton or knowledge and travel experience throughout Europe and parts of the US should contact Amber!!

Reflections on the day

As I sit here reflecting on the past few days, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and joy. Being able to witness and capture such a beautiful and intimate elopement in two different countries has truly been a once in a lifetime experience.

From the moment I arrived in Iceland for the engagement day, I knew that this couple’s love story was something special. The rugged landscapes, the powerful waterfalls, and the cozy local houses provided the perfect backdrop for their love to shine. As I clicked my camera and captured each moment, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the beauty of nature and the power of love.

And then, as we made our way to the Faroe Islands for the elopement day, I was once again blown away by the stunning scenery that surrounded us. The mountaintops, the cliffs, the crashing waves – it was all so breathtakingly beautiful. And to think that this couple had chosen to exchange their vows in such a remote and magical location, it was truly a testament to their adventurous spirit and deep connection.

The ceremony itself was nothing short of magical. With the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the wind blowing through our hair, it felt like we were in our own little world, completely disconnected from the outside world. As I looked through my viewfinder and captured the raw emotions and pure love that radiated from this couple, I couldn’t help but feel a lump form in my throat. It was a privilege to witness such a profound and meaningful moment in their lives.

As I pack up my camera gear and prepare to head back home, I am left with a renewed sense of purpose and passion for my craft. This elopement has reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place – the ability to freeze moments in time, to capture emotions and memories that will last a lifetime. And for that, I am eternally grateful.

To the adventurous couple who trusted me to document their love story, thank you for allowing me to be a part of this incredible journey. Your love and spirit have left a lasting impression on me, and I will forever cherish the memories we created together. May your love continue to grow and thrive, just like the wild and untamed landscapes that witnessed your union.

Behind the scenes of their Torshavn elopement

A short anecdote: If you notice a difference between this itinerary and the engagement photos, there’s a good reason—Iceland had other plans! A yellow weather alert hit the peninsula on day one, bringing wind and rain, so I scrapped our entire plan the night before and created a new adventure from scratch.

Instead of battling the storm, we chased the sunshine to the south coast, where the skies were kinder, and the winds softer. The result? Stunning, spontaneous moments that prove the best adventures happen when you embrace the unexpected.
