Reflections on the day

Agathe and Romain’s elopement in Mulagjulfur, Iceland was nothing short of breathtaking. As I look back on the photographs I captured during those three unforgettable days, I am reminded of the beauty and magic of love in its purest form.

Throughout the adventure, Agathe and Romain exuded a sense of adventurous spirit that was truly infectious. They embraced every moment with open hearts and open minds, allowing themselves to be fully present in each experience. From exploring waterfalls to roaming through lava fields, their joy and excitement were palpable in every photograph.

But amidst the stunning landscapes and epic adventures, what struck me the most was the relaxed and easygoing nature of Agathe and Romain’s relationship. They moved through each day with a sense of calm and tranquility, trusting in each other and in the journey they had chosen to embark on together.

And then there was Xarli, their young son, who brought a sense of light and laughter to every scene. His playful energy and curious spirit added an extra layer of joy to the already magical elopement, reminding us all of the pure sense of wonder that children bring to the world.

As I reflect on Agathe and Romain’s elopement, I am reminded of the power of love to transcend time and space, to connect us to the deepest parts of ourselves and to each other. Through their intimate and heartfelt ceremony, they showed me what it truly means to be in love – to be vulnerable, to be courageous, and to be open to all of the adventures that life has to offer.

In capturing their love story, I was reminded of my own journey as a photographer – the growth, the challenges, and the moments of pure joy that come with capturing the beauty of human connection. Agathe and Romain’s elopement was a reminder to me of why I do what I do – to witness and document the beautiful, messy, and miraculous moments that make up the tapestry of life.

So as I look back on the photographs of Agathe and Romain in Mulagjulfur, Iceland, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and wonder. Gratitude for the opportunity to witness their love and wonder at the beauty and magic that surrounds us all, if only we are open to seeing it. And as I continue on my own journey as a photographer, I carry with me the lessons and the love that Agathe and Romain shared so freely, reminding me of the power and beauty of love in all of its forms.

Behind the scenes of their Mulagjulfur elopement

A short anecdote: We had the perfect plan to catch the sunset at Dyrhólaey, imagining those golden rays lighting up the cliffs. But when we arrived, we found out the cliffs were closed—turns out the puffins had claimed the spot for their nesting season! So, we pivoted and ended up watching the sunset on a glacier instead. Who knew getting outsmarted by puffins could lead to an even more epic view?
