What they have to say about their adventure
I’m not sure I have the words to say how great it was having Ambre as our photographer for our elopement in Scotland. Her communication was amazing, even over multiple time zones. She absolutely made us feel comfortable from her very helpful website, her quick responses, and our first video call. Then, on our elopement day, everything was absolutely perfect and exactly as promised. The photos are amazing- I look at them all of the time. Truly, if we needed photos done again for any reason and had the budget for it, we’d hire Ambre in a heartbeat. Our whole elopement felt like a fairy tale and Ambre/Zephyr et Luna was a huge part of that!

Reflections on the day
As I watched Robin and Toby exchange their vows on the rugged cliffs of the Isle of Skye (Scotland), I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the raw beauty surrounding us. The wind whipped through their hair, adding a whimsical element to their already magical elopement ceremony. These two souls chose a path less traveled, opting for a faery elopement in the highlands, far from the traditions and expectations of a typical wedding.
But as I snapped photos of their intimate moments, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own journey as a photographer. I, too, have chosen a path less traveled, embracing the adventurous spirit that drives me to seek out unique and captivating moments to capture. Just like Robin and Toby, I have learned to embrace the elements, whether it be wind, rain, or scorching heat, in order to create stunning images that speak to the essence of a couple’s love.
As we explored the island together, I found myself drawn to the way Robin’s eyes sparkled with mischief and Toby’s easygoing nature. Their connection was palpable, and I knew that my job was to capture that connection in a way that would resonate with them for years to come. It’s moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place – the ability to freeze time and immortalize a feeling, a moment, a memory.
As the sun began to set on the beach, casting a golden glow over the sand and sea, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for my role in Robin and Toby’s special day. They had entrusted me with capturing their love story, and I was honored to do so in a way that felt authentic and true to who they are as a couple. In that moment, I realized that my growth as a photographer has been intertwined with my growth as a person – learning to see beauty in the unconventional, finding joy in the unexpected, and cultivating a sense of adventure in everything I do.
So as I pack up my gear and bid farewell to Robin and Toby, I carry with me a newfound appreciation for the art of photography and the power it has to capture the essence of love, beauty, and individuality. And as I look towards the future, I know that I will continue to seek out those moments that speak to the adventurous, relaxed, and friendly spirit that defines both me as a photographer and the couples I have the privilege to work with.
Behind the scenes of their Skye elopement
A short anecdote: This couple’s elopement in Scotland was beautifully tailored to their tastes, culminating in a picturesque picnic beside a castle in ruins. With the groom being a skilled cheesemonger, they prepared an exquisite charcuterie board featuring a diverse selection of local cheeses. As we enjoyed the scenic backdrop, the groom shared his expertise, enriching our experience with fascinating details about each cheese, making the picnic not just a meal, but a memorable and educational gourmet experience.
