What they have to say about their adventure
Planning an elopement can feel overwhelming — from finding the right location to making sure the day actually feels meaningful, peaceful, and true to who you are. We were worried about all the little details adding up and turning what should be a beautiful experience into something stressful.
But working with Amber was the best decision we could have made. She made everything feel so easy, so natural, and so us. From the very beginning, she guided us with patience, kindness, and incredible attention to what we truly wanted. The three days we spent with her felt effortless and deeply joyful — not once did we feel rushed, awkward, or pressured. Everything just flowed.
And the photos — wow! Amber captured every emotion, every quiet moment, every bit of magic we felt. We can’t stop looking at them. Every image brings us right back to that peaceful, perfect feeling we had during our elopement.
We are forever grateful for the time, heart, and care Amber poured into making this experience everything we dreamed of. We can’t wait to see the album and share these memories with our family and friends. Amber, thank you for making our elopement unforgettable — you truly deserve every bit of praise we can give!

Reflections on the Day
In the vibrant heart of Switzerland, over the course of three unforgettable days, I found myself swept up in a journey not only through breathtaking landscapes but also through layers of emotions that were as vast and varied as the snow-capped peaks surrounding me. Every click of the shutter was a moment of quiet connection—each frame an invitation to lose myself in the wonder of love and nature entwined.
When the adventure began, the crisp mountain air filled my lungs, invigorating me. It was still early morning, and the sunlight gently peeked over the horizon, setting the snow aglow with a soft, ethereal light. I witnessed a couple, hearts intertwined with dreams, stepping confidently into the powerful embrace of the Swiss Alps. Their laughter echoed against the solid rock faces, a joyous celebration that resonated through the valleys. In those fragile moments, I felt the essence of friendship emanating from our shared experience, bonding us through the universal pursuit of beauty and love.
As we trekked deeper into the wilderness, the landscape shifted. Cascading waterfalls mirrored the spontaneity of emotions in the air, their relentless flow reminding me of time—unfettered and unstoppable. Each splash of water seemed to carry echoes of laughter and whispers of promises. I was drawn into their rhythm, waiting patiently for the perfect moment when nature and emotion would converge. Standing alone amidst the thundering cascade, I realized that the act of capturing these fleeting yet profound moments became a meditation—a practice that balanced my curious spirit with a serene mind.
In the evenings, when the day’s adventures started to sink into twilight, we would sit together around the warmth of a collective fire, the embers flickering, mirroring the light within each person’s story. Conversations flowed effortlessly, revealing layers of vulnerability as the couple shared their dreams and fears. This relaxed companionship reminded me of the beauty of connection—how it fosters resilience, creating space for dreams to flourish. It was in these moments I felt an exhilarating sense of belonging to something much larger than myself.
There were moments of silence, too. As I immersed myself in capturing the stillness of the snowy peaks enveloped in cloud, I embraced the gentle solitude that photography often brings. I learned that the deep crevices in the mountains could not only be wide but also profound, revealing the challenges of navigating personal growth. Each shot demanded patience, a soft reminder that even in the midst of adventure, harmony begins with stillness—an exhale before the exhilarating plunge into the unknown.
Throughout our three days in this haven of majestic beauty, I felt transformed—not just in technique or composition, but within the very essence of how I perceive the world. The experience inherently taught me to approach life and my surroundings with an adventurous heart, a relaxed demeanor, and a friendly spirit. I had not just captured a story; I had woven myself into it, becoming a part of the love and valiance that the couple embodied.
The stunning landscapes were merely the canvas—I became attuned to the subtleties of emotions written within each frame. Love, in all its glorious forms, unfolded in this ethereal corner of the world, revealing the intricate bond between the adventurer’s heart and the beauty inherent in our shared human experience. In embracing this duality, I emerged not just as a witness but as a participant, finding joy in the act of creation itself. Each picture preserved a layer of this journey, a mosaic of memories that held within them not just images but an entire adventure wrapped in boundless love.
Behind the scenes of their Gornergrat elopement
A short anecdote: When I first started planning Sheryl and Mike’s elopement adventure, the route seemed simple — we’d drive through a beautiful mountain pass to reach Zermatt. But that year, winter arrived earlier than expected, and just days before their trip, the pass was suddenly closed due to heavy snow.
Instead of stressing, we embraced the unexpected. We rerouted, took a two-hour scenic detour through winding valleys and quiet alpine villages, and ended up arriving in Zermatt under a sky full of stars. It turned into this spontaneous, magical start to their elopement — a reminder that sometimes the best adventures are the ones you don’t plan for.
This elopement won 4 international photography awards
