The Geirangerfjord is one of the most iconic fjords in Norway and one of the most remote ceremony settings you can reach without a helicopter. Cliffs drop hundreds of metres straight into still water. Waterfalls thread down every fold of rock. In late spring and early summer, the mountains are layered in every shade of green, and the sky stays light until midnight.

Their Ceremony on the Mountaintop Above the Fjord
The ceremony took place on the first evening, after dinner, at the gondola summit. The sun was still up. The fjord spread out thousands of feet below. Kylie and Danny had written their own vows, and they read them standing in the wind with nothing around them but cliffs and open sky.
There was no officiant to manage, no seating plan to worry about, no timeline to hit. The ceremony was exactly as long as they needed it to be. When it was done, they stood there for a while and just looked at the view. That is what a Geirangerfjord elopement ceremony gives you: time that belongs entirely to you.
The hand-fasting ritual, the ring exchange, the first kiss with fog moving in across the cliffs — all of it is in the photos. And then they walked back to the gondola in their hiking boots, covered in mud, laughing.

What started as a fairly sunny fjord adventure turned into the rainiest stretch of days — but on the third morning, as we climbed higher into the mist, the sky cracked open just enough to give us a double rainbow and light that you genuinely cannot manufacture. Kylie and Danny just laughed through all of it, soaked and glowing. That is honestly the best possible attitude to bring to a Geirangerfjord elopement. The weather will do what it does.
