What they have to say about their adventure

Choosing to elope in Italy was one of the biggest decisions we ever made, but thanks to Amber, it was also the best. From the outset, Amber embraced our vision and was instrumental in turning our dream into reality. Every step of the way, she was more than just a planner; she was a problem-solver, a guide, and a confidant.

One of the most memorable moments was when we encountered a sudden issue with our ceremony location. Without missing a beat, Amber swiftly presented alternatives and seamlessly arranged for everything to be even more beautiful than we had initially imagined. Her ability to handle unexpected challenges ensured that our day was stress-free and absolutely perfect.

The photos, taken by the incredibly talented Deborah, captured the essence of our elopement beautifully. Each image reflects the joy and love we felt that day, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Italy’s landscapes. We find ourselves revisiting the album often, each photo a vivid reminder of our wonderful journey.

We are eternally grateful to Amber for her dedication, creativity, and exceptional organizational skills. Our Italian elopement was everything we hoped for and more, and it wouldn’t have been possible without her. Thank you, Amber, for not just planning our wedding, but for crafting an experience we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

Reflections on the day

In the golden hues of an Italian October, Vanessa and Dominic embarked on an elopement that was as serendipitous as it was enchanting, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Amalfi Coast in Italy. Their story began not with meticulous timings but with the whimsical charm of a missed train, setting the tone for a journey filled with unexpected delights and spontaneous beauty.
A Delayed Departure
The morning air was crisp with the bustle of Rome when Vanessa and Dominic found themselves an hour behind schedule, their train to the adventure already a ghost upon the tracks. Yet, in the heart of the city, at the bustling train station, they met Deborah, their guide and confidante for the journey, whose enthusiasm and readiness promised that no minute lost could dampen the spirit of the day.
As I orchestrated the details from afar in Iceland, the dance of logistics unfolded smoothly. Adjustments were made with a flurry of calls and clicks, resulting in four newly booked ferry rides to the mystical island of Capri. Thus reassured, Vanessa and Dominic drove to the charming town of Sorrento, where a leisurely lunch awaited, offering a taste of Italy’s culinary heart with views that stretched endlessly into the azure.
Capri’s Charms
The ferry ride to Capri was a breath of fresh air, sea salt mingling with anticipation. Upon arrival, Vanessa and Dominic embraced the freedom of the island on rented scooters, winding through narrow streets, up formidable mountaintops, and past museums echoing with the whispers of history. Their day culminated in a sunset that painted the sky from the vantage of a quaint lighthouse—an emblem of guidance and hope.
As twilight deepened, they found themselves in a local restaurant, where the flavors of Capri were served with warmth and flair, before retiring to their hotel, hearts full and ready for the morrow.
Elopement Day on the Amalfi Coast
The elopement day dawned bright and clear, the sun casting a golden glow over the garden where Vanessa and Dominic readied themselves. The air was perfumed with the scent of blooming flowers, the sea whispering secrets to the shore. A first look by the crystalline waters set their hearts alight, eyes sparkling with tears and laughter as the Mediterranean sun embraced them.
Lunch was a quiet affair in a secluded restaurant, where they savored the simplicity of Italian cuisine, each bite a prelude to the vows that awaited. The return to mainland Italy was marked by the gentle sway of the ferry, bringing them back to Sorrento for a brief respite at their hotel.
Then, the journey to the ceremony site began—along the serpentine roads of the Amalfi Coast, Deborah at the wheel, her expertise transforming the nerve-wracking twists into thrilling anticipation. As the sun kissed the horizon, Vanessa and Dominic stood hand in hand, their vows floating over the waves, a testament to their enduring love.
Celebration followed in the form of dinner at a renowned restaurant, where the day’s emotions were toasted under the stars, the Mediterranean providing a symphony of waves for their elopement song.
Exploring Amalfi
The final day dawned with a sense of adventure as they explored the Amalfi Coast in a vintage Fiat, an iconic emblem of Italian chic. With a local driver to navigate the narrow, cliffside roads, they were free to lose themselves in the beauty of the landscape. They paused to capture moments in tucked-away villages and against breathtaking vistas, each photo a frame of their love story.
Vanessa and Dominic’s journey was more than an elopement; it was a testament to the beauty of embracing the unexpected, finding joy in the detours, and celebrating love with every sun-kissed, sea-sprayed moment. In the dance of missed trains and new beginnings, they found their forever in the heart of Italy, woven into the fabric of the Amalfi Coast’s timeless charm.

Behind the scenes of their Capri elopement

A short anecdote: On their very first day in Italy, Vanessa and Dominic missed their train from Rome to Naples, setting off a potential cascade of delays for their tightly scheduled day. Despite being in Iceland, shooting another elopement, I was able to swiftly rebook their ferry to Capri and adjust the day’s activities without a hitch. This quick rearrangement ensured that their journey continued smoothly, without them missing a beat of their beautifully planned adventure.
