1.00 PM: Danielle meet the couple for getting ready and atmospheric shots
3.00 PM – 3.15 PM: first look
3.15 PM – 3.30 PM: drive to Meteora
3.30 PM – 6.30 PM: couple photoshoot in Meteora (monasteries, overlooks)
6.30 PM – 6.45 PM: meeting back with the guests at the rock
6.45 PM – 7.15 PM: ceremony
7.15 PM – 7.30 PM: group photos
7.30 PM – 8.15 PM: couple photos at another rock
8.15 PM – 8.30 PM: drive to the restaurant

My husband & I knew that we wanted to elope, and preferably overseas–we just weren’t sure how to go about it. We found Amber and Zephyr & Luna through a Google search about adventure elopements, and fell in love with the idea because it felt exactly like what we were looking for: off-the-beaten path and non-traditional.

Amber took care of all of our planning for the nine months leading up to our ceremony (a plus for me, because I wanted to avoid the stress of planning a traditional wedding), & in April we had our ceremony in Meteora, in Kalambaka, Greece.

Dani, from the Zephyr & Luna team, was our photographer & she was a gem to work with! She made us feel comfortable in front of the camera and captured some beautiful moments of our adventures that day. It was everything we could have hoped for, & more. For anyone looking for a truly magical way to celebrate their marriage, look no further!

Reflections on the day

As I stood atop that ancient rock, overlooking the stunning landscape of Meteora, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over everything in sight, and the air was filled with a sense of tranquility and peace. It was a moment of pure magic, and I felt privileged to be able to capture it through my lens.

This couple, who had chosen to elope in Greece and celebrate their love amidst the rugged beauty of the mountains, were a true testament to the power of love and adventure. They were fearless in their pursuit of happiness, unafraid to step off the beaten path and create their own unique story together. It was inspiring to witness their bond, their connection, and their unwavering commitment to each other.

As a photographer, I have always been drawn to moments of raw emotion and natural beauty. I strive to capture the essence of each individual I photograph, to tell their story in a way that is honest and true. And in this elopement shoot, I felt like I had truly achieved that goal. The images I captured reflected the adventurous spirit of this couple, the relaxed and carefree way in which they approached life, and the deep love that bound them together.

Photography is more than just a job to me – it is a journey of self-discovery and growth. With each click of the shutter, I learn something new about myself and about the world around me. I am constantly challenging myself to see things from a different perspective, to push the boundaries of my creativity, and to connect with my subjects on a deeper level.

This elopement shoot in Meteora was a turning point for me, a moment of clarity and realization. It reminded me of why I fell in love with photography in the first place, and it opened my eyes to the endless possibilities that lie ahead. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this beautiful celebration, and I look forward to many more adventures and new experiences in the future.

In the end, photography is not just about capturing a moment in time – it is about capturing the essence of life itself. It is about telling stories, evoking emotions, and creating lasting memories. And as I continue on this journey as a photographer, I am excited to see where it will take me next. Adventurous, relaxed, friendly – these are the qualities that define me as a photographer, and I am proud to embody them in everything I do.

A short anecdote: Traveling to Greece for their elopement, this couple brought along a very special guest—their baby. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the Aegean Sea, the family shared tender moments against this breathtaking backdrop. The sunset illuminated their faces with a warm light, making for stunning photographs that captured the beauty of their new beginning as a family. It was a picturesque scene, filled with love and the soft sounds of the sea, creating memories they would cherish forever.
